研究内容

私の専門分野は自由確率論です. 自由確率論は, 1980年代にVoiculescu氏によって誕生した比較的新しい確率論であり, 通常の確率論では現れない「非可換量」,「自由独立性」などをキーワードに, 作用素環やランダム行列の研究に大きく貢献しました. 現在では, 上記の研究以外にも様々な広がりを見せており, 例えば量子情報理論や深層学習などの分野にも, 自由確率論のアイデアが使われた研究があります. 私は, こういった応用研究というよりは, 自由確率論が始まった当初から考えられてきた, 通常の確率論との関係を調べる基礎研究を主としています. とくに, 自由独立性をはじめとする, 非可換量の間にある独立性 (テンソル独立・ブール独立・単調独立) のもとで定義される確率分布のたたみこみ演算による極限定理やそれから現れる極限分布のクラスに興味があります. より具体的には, 無限分解可能分布, 自己分解可能分布, 安定分布, 極値分布といったクラスの研究を行なっています. さらに最近は, 行列の特性多項式の間の演算の一つである「有限自由たたみこみ」に関する極限定理を研究しています. ここで得られる結果は自由確率論の離散近似理論として解釈できることが期待されています.
