| 概要 | This paper investigated which type of glossing, sigle glosses or multiple-choice glosses, were more effective for incidental vacabulary learning. There were 260 high school and university students who participated in the experiment. The findings are (a)the larger vocabulary size a learner has, the larger benefit she or he has in incidental learning with glosses; (b) The multiple-choice glosses are more effective for the learners who knows 3,000 word families and more; the singles glosses are more effective for the learners who knows less than 3,000 word families. |
