概要 This study explores the evolving role of Yogo teachers (school nurses) in supporting children affected by family-related absenteeism. Through three case studies in Japan, the research identifies three key responsibilities: contributing to a “team school” approach by understanding the school system, addressing family dynamics to resolve underlying issues, and promoting early detection and intervention for developmental disabilities. As trusted figures, Yogo teachers bridge schools and families, providing emotional and developmental support in a safe environment. Training in systemic family therapy is essential to enhance their ability to address complex family and mental health challenges. Their role in tackling school refusal and supporting student well-being is becoming increasingly significant.
