| 概要 | Group identification is well known to promote group oriented attitude. As national identity is a kind of group identity, it is supposed to promote people's negative attitude to the economic divide and their support to the welfare policy for the all people indiscriminately in the same society. We conducted a survey to investigate the relations between national identity and the orientation of welfare. The results showed that a strong national identity promotes the orientation focused on autonomy. However, a significant effect on the orientation focused on equality was not observed. Self-identification seems to be the factor that helps people to justify their economic situation, rather than to criticize economic divide.(in press) |
